    Agenus is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Director of Finance to join our team!     Responsibilities

     

    • Plan and direct monthly financial statement close/preparation process for all consolidated entiti
    • Direct global accounts payable and receivable function
    • Supervise/direct global payroll function
    • Direct the reconciliation of all general ledger accounts ensuring that accurate, complete and timely   accruals are made at month-end
    • Review subsidiary monthly financial statements
    • Prepare/review consolidated financial statements
    • Direct preparation of monthly management report and Board of Director’s reporting package
    • Review budget vs. actual analyses with department heads
    • Coordinate information for SEC filings with Mgr. Financial Reporting and Compliance
    • Effectively manage and develop staff and ensure that they are fully utilized
    • Prepare/Review 401(k) plan financial statements and coordinate external audit
    • Ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures
    • Ensure that financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP
    • Liaison between external audit team and finance department
    • Review and provide all requests from external auditors and tax compliance firms
    • Direct annual budget and periodic forecast process
    • Administer Oracle (R12) accounting system and other IT systems related to the finance/accounting   function (e.g. authorizations, training, etc.)
    • Ensure appropriate operating bank accounts are maintained and monitored
    • Identify and implement best practices for process improvements within department
    • Support VP Finance and other departments heads as necessary
    • Complete ad hoc projects as requested
    • Enforce/manage T&E reporting porting policy
    • Ensure and maintain accuracy of Finance section of Intranet

     

    Candidates should have the ability to inspire and mentor others within the department, analyze and revise current processes to efficient and productive means and jump right in to tactical day-to-day requirements of the Finance function.

    Qualifications

    • BS in Finance (or related or MBA) 
    • 7 - 15 years of industry with at least 5 years of direct experience  
    • Must be team oriented 
    • Must have ability to drive solutions and execute on process
