Seeking a highly motivated and passionate "Research Associate/Senior Research Associate - Vaccine Research" to join a group of researchers evaluating novel personalized vaccines and immune modulatory drugs in the field of cancer immunotherapy.
At Agenus we value our research assistants and we give them the opportunity to have broad exposure and impact across the research and development organization. He/She will assist scientists in exploring vaccine design parameters, mechanism of action and potential for synergy with other therapeutic immune modulating strategies. There will be a focus on studying both innate and T-cell immunology at the cellular and molecular level. Finally, as a member of the immune education group the candidate will work closely with discovery scientists to advance pre-clinical research stage programs into early clinical development, providing both scientific and technical expertise.
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of hands-on relevant experience with a track record of success as evidenced by strong publications and/or sustained contributions in the biopharmaceutical industry.
The ideal candidate should preferentially have a solid understanding of basic principles in immunology and experience with a wide range of immunological assays including cell culture, mutli-color flow cytometry, cellular and molecular innate and adaptive immunology.
Familiarity and previous experience with in vivo mouse models of immune diseases or oncology would be highly valuable.
Expertise in standard and cutting-edge molecular biology techniques, including cloning, gene silencing, genome editing, transfection, transduction in addition to analytic biochemistry skills would be advantageous.
Excellent communication skills to present results at intra- and inter-departmental meetings in addition to exceptional organization skills are expected.
Qualified candidates should be adept at designing, executing, trouble-shooting and interpreting experiments.

Minimum MS degree in immunology, oncology, biology or related field. Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in the above fields who have completed a senior thesis and have 2 years of research experience will also be considered.
