Agenus (Charlottesville, VA) is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Molecular Information Systems group. The selected candidate will work as a part of an integrated research team focused on the discovery and validation of novel tumor targets for use in the development of cancer immunotherapeutics.







  • Preparation of laboratory reagents and materials, including processing of tissue samples prior to mass spectrometric analysis.
  • Conduct experimental work in a timely manner, interpret scientific findings, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize protocols for improved sample analysis.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical documents, project report summaries, and laboratory protocols.
  • Assist with the preparation of experimental results for distribution and discussion among additional research teams within Agenus.
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance and general laboratory maintenance when required.
  • Acquire new skills and integrate new technologies as needed.





  • A BS/MS degree in biology, chemistry, or related field is required. Candidates possessing a background in bioanalytical mass spectrometry will be given preference.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of research experience with demonstrated academic or industry achievement is required.
  • Strong skills in general laboratory methods and the ability to accurately document protocols and experimental results is required.
  • Ability to work independently, rapidly acquire new skills, and precisely communicate findings is highly desired.
