  • Overview

    The Communications Associate will support the communications team at Agenus to prepare written materials, presentations, press releases, etc. This position heavily focuses on writing, and the Communications Associate must be an exceptional writer who can not only create compelling copy, but also meticulously edit their own and others’ work. This person will conceptualize, write, and edit a broad range of projects across a variety of communications channels (including print, web, social media, email, and public relations). They must be confident taking the lead on many of these projects and producing high-quality pieces on deadline with little supervision


    Includes activities such as:

    • Assist the communications team in creating, editing and revising media materials, including press releases, social / digital media content and media pitch letters
    • Coordinate with research and communications team to develop editorial calendar/ upcoming publications calendar, and remain apprised of upcoming events, updating the plan as appropriate
    • Work with communications and research staff to develop draft of scientific documents and PowerPoint presentations for a wide range of audiences
    • Perform media monitoring to check for coverage on Agenus, specific peer companies and relevant topics
    • Manage outside vendors for development of certain collateral materials and to coordinate projects
    • Handle logistics for events such as R&D/Analyst Day



    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Strong understanding of social and digital media
    • Highly Proficient with Word, Excel and Powerpoint programs
    • Experience with communicating complex scientific and technical information to a wide variety of target audiences
    • Superior ability to proofread accurately for grammatical and typographical errors
    • Ability to work independently, strong initiative, and can-do attitude
    • Experience presenting to or training others on highly scientific concepts





    • Bachelors of Science degree required; Biology focus preferred
    • Masters degree preferred
