The successful candidate will use his/her coding and scripting skills for improving existing and creating novel bioinformatics pipelines for the processing, analysis, and interpretation of next generation sequencing and functional genomics datasets. He/she will develop and maintain databases and web interfaces and contribute to the team’s efforts for data storage and curation from internal and external sources.

    Responsibilities

    - Informatics operations and data analysis:
o Build robust informatics pipelines for analyzing sequencing data and help establishing the computational infrastructure required
o Use existing software for diverse tasks including: sequence alignment, transcriptome analysis, variant calling, inter-sample comparison, algorithm evaluation, data management, and data retrieval
o Incorporate software into specialized analysis workflows
o In collaboration with drug discovery project teams develop data analysis plans and use web-based bioinformatics tools as well as public and proprietary databases to facilitate interpretation of data
o Use best practices to document your work and the flow of samples and information for projects
o Generate reports and visualizations for deliverables, presentations, and publications
    - Project management and communication:
o Review, analyze, and evaluate systems and user needs, also in the contexts of existing tools and applicability
