Agenus is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Immunomodulatory Drug Discovery group (Cancer Immunology) in Lexington, MA. In this position, the selected candidate will work as part of an integrated research team focused on identifying novel therapeutic targets, and in the development and characterization of cancer immunotherapeutic agents directed at these targets.

The successful candidate is expected to work independently and as part of a group to facilitate the design, execution and interpretation of in vivo and ex vivo experiments. These experiments will contribute to the team's effort of evaluating how immunotherapeutic drug candidates affect the cross-talk between signaling networks that contribute to immune suppression and neoplastic growth. The candidate is expected to be a visible and vital member of a highly collaborative research environment within Agenus and with our industry partners.

  • A BS or MS degree in biology, immunology, or oncology and a minimum of 2 years of research experience.
  • A track-record of success in a team-oriented environment, ability to identify critical issues and execute innovative technical solutions, and strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Experience employing rodent experiments including drug administrations (I.P. and I.V.), blood draw, and tissue collections is required. A strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in implementing subcutaneous and orthotopic cancer models.
  • Experience performing ex vivo analysis including immune cell-based assays and flow cytometry-based pharmacodynamic studies is preferred.
  • Meticulousness in record-keeping and adherence to protocols and laboratory techniques are required.
