Your role:  Drive Agenus reputation and strategy in a fast-moving dynamic organization by serving as a key member of the corporate communications function to research, write, edit and disseminate financial, corporate and scientific communications, in collaboration with management, investor relations and others. Oversee the strategy and execution of corporate social media channels and the corporate internet. Play a key role in supporting diverse communications programs and initiatives. Contribute to the development and strengthening of the overall Agenus IR/Communications team.

Opportunity: High profile role and ability to make an impact in rising biotech and growing IR/Communications function. Exposure to senior management and all aspects of the business. Drive and lead communications of importance to the company, including earnings, M&A, data milestones. Ability to work across the communications function and develop broad and deep kcommunications expertise. Close partner with Investor Relations.








Key responsibilities:

  • Research, craft, edit and disseminate corporate communications, including press releases, media pitches, talking points, presentations, social media posts and communications; ensure appropriate legal, regulatory and other approvals
  • Lead, develop, execute and oversee the strategy, content development and maintenance of the corporate internet and other social media channels; identify emerging trends and continually innovate and improve these channels
  • Develop and support ad hoc internal and external communications and initiatives as appropriate, to build corporate reputation and drive employee engagement
  • Contribute ideas and support the overall effectiveness of the IR/Communications function
  • Ensure ongoing day-to-day management of PR agencies and vendors




  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in corporate communications position in a biotech, pharmaceutical company and/or PR agency supporting life sciences
  • Demonstrated ability to write and present scientific information to non-scientists
  • Knowledge of internal, external and digital communications strategies and tactics
  • Ability to design, develop  and deliver new communication approaches to achieve goals
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree or PhD desirable
  • Flexibility including occasional travel and some weekend responsibilities
  • Experience managing vendors and contractors 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to interact with and present to senior management
  • Self-starter, with degree of professional versatility and resourcefulness
  • Sense of urgency: ability to work in fast-moving and dynamic environment, and to deliver consistently and calmly, often within short timelines
  • Highly professional and accountable; proactive
