Agenus is expanding a multidisciplinary department with experience in biostatistics, genomics, bioinformatics, biotechnology, next-generation sequencing (NGS), immunology, and molecular biology.  We seek a senior bioinformatics scientist to join our team and focus on analysis, visualization and interpretation of high throughput profiling datasets, including NGS and mass spectrometry data.

You will contribute to the development of accurate, robust, private, and reproducible analysis pipelines; ongoing assessment and incorporation of relevant public and commercial analytical tools; and the development of novel algorithms and methods as needed.

  • Develop and use bioinformatics tools to computationally process, analyze, and interpret cancer DNA, RNA, proteomics, and HLA-ligandomics datasets
  • Datasets include those from next-generation sequencing (NGS) and mass-spectrometry (MS)
  • Design and implement software algorithms and workflows that privatively, accurately, and rapidly identify immunogenic mutations in patient tumors
  • Apply biostatistics to data mining cancer ‘omic data
  • Be part of Agenus' cutting-edge individualized cancer vaccine team

  • PhD in bioinformatics, computational immunology, or a related discipline. Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree with exceptional experience

  • Several years of experience in the analysis of high-throughput ‘omic data.
  • Proficiency in Linux and a cloud environment
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or a similar bioinformatics language
  • Strong statistics background
  • Knowledge of common bioinformatics tools
  • Experience analyzing large-scale genomics datasets
