    Responsible for the planning and procurement of goods and services to support manufacturing and other operations.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, engineering and others in support of all procurement requirements to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner
    • Scheduling, purchasing and expediting of Direct and Indirect materials in support of all departments to obtain materials, components equipment and services.
    • Collaborate with Agenus global purchasing to maximize volume discounting with suppliers to achieve the best overall benefit for Agenus.
    • Responsible for supply of assigned materials, office supplies and indirect materials as required by all departments.
    • Monitor inventory levels to determine required demand and adequate stock levels.
    • Recommend cost saving proposals, alternative sourcing and vendor evaluation criteria.
    • Request quotes, samples of raw materials for evaluation of new products from potential suppliers.
    • Manage suppliers with price discrepancies, damaged or returned material, logistics and other supplier issues.
    • Communicate and work with Accounting Department on any payable issues, reconcile material and invoicing discrepancies.
    • Maintain key policies and procedures.
    • Manage assigned material inventories using established inventory control systems and tools including Kanban’s, visual stocking systems, and MRP.
    • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
    • Evaluates vendor reliability; develops new supply sources, as required, in which current vendors and suppliers are inadequate
    • As required, monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality and quality at best value.

    Qualifications

     

     Requirements

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Word, MRP. Experience working with Oracle a plus.
    • Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Must demonstrate self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude and perform as a team player.
    • Candidate should also be experienced with SOP's, GMP, JIT, MRP.
    • Experience working with document control and enterprise quality management systems.
    • Ability to effectively work with personnel on all levels.
    • Demonstrated successful contract supplier negotiation involving any of the following: cost reduction independent of volume increase, vendor managed inventory, supply flexibility increase.
    • Well-developed multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work independently and to adapt to consistently changing priorities.

     

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 7 years related experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
    • APICS or ICMS certification, and Oracle experience a plus.
